FSC Members Volunteer for the Jerry Lewis Telethon
July 28, 2006 – Free Speech Coalition member Bob, Vice President of Dane Productions, has coordinated volunteers for the last twenty years to participate in the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon. In previous years, he recruited volunteers through his local Rotary Club. This year he offered to coordinate volunteers through FSC, and much to his surprise and delight, the telethon organizers have invited FSC to join this nationally televised fundraiser.
“This event will really get the word out there about the Free Speech Coalition,” said Bob, “because the FSC name will be visible to viewers.”
Television has few traditions as strongly ingrained as the 39-year-old annual Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Labor Day Telethon. The MDA is a voluntary health agency that partners with researchers and concerned supporters dedicated to conquering neuromuscular diseases that affect more than a million Americans.
“This is an opportunity for the adult entertainment industry to show the public that we are caring, concerned people – parents, grandparents, daughters, and sons – who help others through volunteering,” stated Michelle L. Freridge, FSC’s Executive Director.
Bob is now actively seeking 20-30 members to represent FSC during the telethon. “We’ll be on television in front of millions of people,” he reminded the trade group’s members, “so we’ll really have to represent this industry well.
For those interested in volunteering their time, contact Bob at 818.349.6600 or via email, email@example.com. Also, Bob will be at Club Aura in Studio City for the Naughty & Nice Party, Friday night, July 28, 2006, if anyone from the industry would like to discuss the event with him personally.
Free Speech Coalition is the trade organization of the adult entertainment industry. Its mission is to safeguard the industry from oppressive governmental regulation and to promote good business practices within the industry.
